Award Winning La Tropical

Our Beers

La Tropical is brewed with our original Cuban formula dating back to 1888 which includes the finest two-row barley and imported hops to create the unique taste that only Cuba's first beer can have. La Tropical is also distinguished by its classic green bottle which, like the beer, was the first and only green bottle in Cuba. Its historic label has preserved many of its awards and has immortalized the famous brewery tropical gardens. The appealing gold, red and green colors revive the elegance of Cuba's past. Among the awards La Tropical has won, we include:

  • "Grand Prix", International Exposition, London, 1896
  • "First Prize", International Exposition, Brussels, 1897
  • "Bronze Medal", Universal Exposition, New York, 1901
  • "Grand Prize", Universal Exposition, St. Louis, 1904
  • "Grand Prix", Munich, 1906
  • "Grand Prize", Havana, 1909
  • "Grand Prize", Cuba 1911
  • "Grand Prix", Paris, 1912

La Tropical is classified as a Pilsener style beer, which in the beer world means a beer with a golden color, foamy head and elegant body. For beer lovers La Tropical represents a full-bodied beer with a smooth, clean import taste, that provides a pleasant drinking experience. It's rich body leaves delicate patterns of "Brussels lace" (small bubbles of foam) in the glass, an indicative of the high quality and freshness of La Tropical. To enjoy La Tropical at its fullest, serve in a chilled glass at 45 to 48 degrees fahrenheit and enjoy Cuba's First Beer.
